• But what about those other parts of the Bible? You know those “God kills everyone” parts. Like the Flood story. Or Saul being commanded to kill all of the Amalekites. Or Joshua’s conquest of Canaan.

  • Our fighter verse this week has significant implications for how we read and interpret the Bible. Jesus is claiming that the entire Old Testament (Moses and the Prophets) point to him. That means it’s not just specific prophecies that look ahead to the Messiah, but the warnings, the commands, the stories, and the promises as well.

  • Jesus is being challenged over and over again by the religious leaders of his day. But his responses teach us much about his deity, his ministry, and the nature of salvation. This week we also learn about the nature of the word of God and how much Jesus trusts it.
